ARC-Muchmore Podium at 2018 Singapore ISTC Stock National Championship

The 2018 Singapore ISTC Stock National Championship was held in Urban Playspace, jointly with the season finale of the UTS series round 5. Four titles to announce on this event for the Singapore Stock National Champion, Singapore Formula National Champion, UTS Round 5 winner, and the overall UTS series champion, which attracting a larger entries than usual.

In the Stock 17.5T Blinky, Team ARC and Muchmore-powered P.Y.Tang posting fastest lap during the practice week but consistency will be critical as Yokomo's Nicholas Lee and Xray's Dominic Quek also charged up for the national title. Q1 proves to be very competitive when everyone was on new tires, with P.Y.Tang and Nicholas Lee exchanging leads. In the closing minute, both P.Y. and Nicholas needed to pass Dominic, losing precious seconds. P.Y. managed to keep Nicholas in the rear view mirror, but Nicholas took Q1 with 0.9s advantage, and Dominic 3rd about 3 secs behind. Q2 was a much closer between the top 4 of Nicholas, P.Y., Dominic and Sean. Nicholas in the end managed to top the group again with the overall TQ. In Q3, Dominic decided to run fresher tires which secured him 2nd from the grid and P.Y. would start from 3rd.

In Final A1, Nicholas defended against Dominic in the whole 5-minute run, while P.Y.Tang retired early due to a body tuck. Nicholas would win A1, Dominic 2nd and Sean in 3rd. in Final A2, Nicholas was able to pull away for the win, while 2nd place Dominic was being chased down by P.Y. for the whole 5 minutes, which ended how it started. With the winner already decided, Final A3 again was between Dominic and P.Y. which bumper to bumper action ended with no change in position, while Sean running in 3rd patiently waited with no contacts with the top 2. Nicholas Lee would take the Stock national champion title, while Dominic, P.Y.Tang and Sean finished in the overall 2018 UTS series top 3.
