XRAY-ORCA-BLITZ podiums in rain-disrupted ROCS 2013 Round 2 Elite Class

Round 2 of inaugural Elite Class on March 17, 2013 featuring 5 RC car manufacturers (ARC, Hotbodies, Tamiya, Xray and Yokomo) competing in the Modified Class was disrupted by rain forcing the race director to take the only qualifying for the final standings. Team Tamiya Singapore's Alvin Koh took the top spot with Team Xray Singapore's P.Y.Tang and E.C.Wee rounding up the podium spots.

XRAY/ORCA 1st Runner-Up in Open Brushless 13.5T at TITC 2013

Just this past weekend, Thailand International RC Touring Car Championship (TITC) 2013, an annual event was hosted by RC Addict in Bangkok, Thailand. TITC is considered the biggest RC event in Asia with drivers around the world gathering to compete for the title TITC Champion, in one of the many classes. This year 5 classes are competed in FWD, Non-Boost, Open Brushless, Modified and Formula.

P.Y.Tang wins for XRAY-ORCA-BLITZ at ROCS Round 6 Season Finale (September 16, 2012)

ROCS which is also known as Raceworks Singapore On-Road Championships finished its 2012 season finale this past weekends at Raceworks Hobbies. In conjunction with the ORCA series, 2 winners from each of the class of ORCA Super Stock 17.5T and ORCA Spec 17.5T, would win a sponsored trip to the ORCA Cup Finals 2012 in Malaysia, tentatively on November 25, 2012.

XRAY-ORCA-BLITZ wins Raceworks Modified Class ROCS Round 5 (August 5, 2012)

P.Y.Tang leads the points standing in the ROCS Raceworks Modified Class after winning the Round 5 with his ORCA-powered XRAY T3'12. P.Y.Tang continue to use the new BLITZ WRX racing bodyshell which he stated that it was easier to drive and more consistent over the 6-minutes run in modified motors setup. Running 6 rounds of Reedy format, P.Y.Tang was consistent throughout winning all the rounds.

NASA Mighty Gripper and Acorn Tyre Essence success at Tamiya Asia Cup Finals 2012 (July 15, 2012)

P.Y.Tang dropped in to share with us on the tire treatment he used at the Tamiya Asia Cup Finals 2012 which he TQ and won in the 4WD GT class. Although car setups were very important for the high traction carpet, P.Y. added that to prevent traction rolling and providing a good corner speed, a good traction compound or tire addictive could also be very advantageous.

Double Asia Champion! Team Singapore's P.Y.Tang and Leonard Sim wins at Tamiya Asia Cup Finals 2012 in Seoul (July 13, 2012)

Team Singapore's P.Y.Tang (4WD GT) and Leonard Sim (M-Chassis) was crowned Asia Champion at the 2012 Tamiya Asia Cup Finals held at the Coex Exhibition Hall in Seoul, Korea in conjunction with the Seoul Auto Car Salon Exhibition. Top qualifying drivers from Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China arrived in host country Korea to compete in Junior Buggy Fighter, Super Stock, M-Chassis, FF03, F1 and 4WD GT class. The event started on Friday July 13, 2012 with 4 practise and 2 control practise sessions. Saturday had 4 qualifying rounds and the 1 last qualifying on Sunday before the Finals. P.Y.Tang and Leonard Sim dominated the qualifying rounds TQing all the rounds.

After 2 months break for the event, ROCS resumed last weekend at Raceworks Hobbies in Bottle Tree Park Singapore. The weekend went really well for Team XRAY-ORCA-BLITZ as they have taken the top spot for the Raceworks Modified and ORCA Super Stock 17.5T class and leading the overall series.

ORCA VX dominated MBA Cup 2012 (April 29, 2012)

Second annual MBA Cup 2012 was successfully hosted at the Minyak Beku Resort Race Track in Batu Pahat, Malaysia. The event was hosted by local racer Mr. Lawson and sponsored by 2000 Entertainment. The race attracted over 80 drivers in the Super Stock 10.5T and Mini 2WD Open class. The Super Stock 10.5T class was dominated by Jacky Siow from Malaysia taking the TQ spot. Recently released ORCA VX speedo had a great start positioning in the front four by Jacky Siow, Michael Lo, Siow Woon Fong and P.Y.Tang. The ORCA VX also powered three XRAY T3'12 in 1st, 2nd and 4th qualifying spot. After Jacky Siow checking out the first two finals, with podium spot remaining for grabs, Siow Woon Fong finished 2nd overall and P.Y.Tang was able to squeeze in to 3rd overall. Congratulations to XRAY and ORCA for winning the MBA Cup 2012!

ORCA Vritra VX - XRAY T3'12 takes glory at ROCS Round 3 (April 8, 2012)

ROCS Round 3 took place at Raceworks Hobbies Singapore on April 8, 2012. I usually participate in the Modified Class only, but in this round I joined both Raceworks Modified and ORCA Super Stock 17.5T, in order to test out and promote the new ORCA Vritra VX ESC. My teammate Michael Lo from Team ORCA Malaysia took the chance to visit us in this race too. However he had some car technical problems during the qualifying so had to retire from the race early. I was very happy to take TQ and winning both classes, showing very good lap times especially on 17.5T boost, a good start from the new released top of the range ORCA speedo! The race showed good potential of the new ORCA Vritra VX ESC providing smooth acceleration, great top end speed and a strong braking system, and achieving fastest laptimes of the track.

ORCA wins Tamiya Asia Cup Singapore Qualifying Round 2 (April 1, 2012)

ORCA took the win in 4WD GT, Super Stock and Mini Class at the Tamiya Asia Cup Singapore Qualifying Round 2. P.Y.Tang took the win in 4WD GT Class in his ORCA-powered Tamiya TA06-Pro, while Daryl Thong won the Super Stock with his Tamiya TT01. Leonard Sim took the honour in Mini Class using the ORCAQ 4200 40C Lipo.

XRAY-ORCA wins ROCS Round 2 (March 19, 2012)

ROCS (Raceworks Singapore On-Road Championships Series) Round 2 took place at Singapore's only electric on-road track at Raceworks Hobbies. One of the most popular on-road races, 3 classes are to be competed over the season in ORCA Spec Class 17.5T, ORCA Super Stock 17.5T and Raceworks Modified. P.Y.Tang driving an ORCA-VX-powered XRAY T3'12, with 3 1st and 2 2nd in Reedy format winning the Raceworks Modified Class. E.C.Wee also in an ORCA-powered T3'11 finished 3rd overall despite winning Round 5, with Jason Lee in Tamiya TRF417X taking 2nd overall.

ORCA A-Main Finalists in Open Brushless 13.5T at TITC 2012 (February 26, 2012)

TITC 2012 (Thailand International Touring Car Championships) just ended this past weekend with a gruelling 1-week event from February 20-27, 2012 at RC Addict, Bangkok in Thailand. It was the 10th TITC since 2002 which saw more than 350 entries in Mini 2WD, FWD, Open Brushless 13.5T, Modify and Formula class. Most competitive class was the Open Brushless 13.5T which had more than 130 entries from all over the world. The high traction and high speed track was very challenging in terms of getting fast laptimes. Team ORCA with its team driver from Canada, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore showed off their new prototype speedo obviously was one of the fastest car on the straights. But balancing the power and car setup was very crucial this year in getting good laptimes consistently. Team ORCA managed to squeeze in 2 drivers into the Open Brushless 13.5T A-Main, Azri Amri from Malaysia and P.Y.Tang from Singapore. Chau Man Chan, Keith Yu, Antoni Caretti, Michael Lo and Ron Chen Team ORCA Hong Kong, Canada, Australia, Malaysia and Taiwan took 5 spots in the B-Main. Unfortunate contact in the finals dropped Azri Amri to 10th overall, but P.Y.Tang showing some impressive power and handling on his ORCA-XRAY T3'12 in the finals improved 4 position to 6th overall.

XRAY-ORCA podiums ORCA Super Stock 17.5T class at Raceworks Singapore Open Championship Series (ROCS) Round 1 (February 12, 2012)

Inaugural ROCS 2012 or Raceworks Singapore Open Championship Series organized by Raceworks Hobbies Singapore started off with a promising 40 entries in 3 classes to compete in Raceworks Open Modified and ORCA class-sponsor ORCA Spec Class and ORCA Superstock 17.5T. The event was held on February 12, 2012 with a forecasted sunny day. With a new layout, the track was very techincal and tight. P.Y.Tang represented Team XRAY and ORCA Singapore in Raceworks Modified Class, while strongest representative in the ORCA Superstock 17.5T Class was entered by Daryl Thong who is also driving an ORCA-powered XRAY T3'12. New ORCA Spec Class which is targeted to boost up the RC community saw a healthy number of newcomers entering the race.

ORCA and NASA tops MTCC 2011 (December 11, 2011)

As year 2011 closing to an end, another big race was held in the South East Asian city of Manila, Philippines. At one of the world class race track in Asia, JP Raceway hosted the annual MTCC (Manila Touring Car Championships) from December 9-11, 2011. Pristine and a well-maintained track saw around 50 drivers competing in Super Stock 13.5T and Novice Class. MTCC is definitely one of the must-go event in the coming years. With the help of ORCA Asia and ORCA Philippines, we are proud that newly-introduced ORCA TQ'ed and finished top 5 in the Super Stock 13.5T, and with 6 ORCA drivers in the A-Main. NASA Mighty Gripper V2 continued to be the top choice for tire addictive. We greatly appreciate the support from the drivers and hope that the product will get them into more A-Mains!

XRAY-ORCA clinches top 3 in Super Stock 11.5T at the Indonesia Year End Race 2011 (November 13, 2011)

Annual 2011 Indonesia year end race was held on the weekend of November 12-13, 2011 at the Sunter International Speedway (SIS) in central Jakarta, Indonesia. It was informed to us that it had been raining for the past two weeks in Jakarta, but it is always magical to get clear and sunny skies during the annual event. Weather was exceptional awesome from friday throughout the weekend.
