Orca 1-2-3 and 8 A-Finalists in the Touring Stock 11.5T at the Acorn Race @ RCC Glenmarie Malaysia (October 25, 2010)
This is the inaugural first race for Acorn that attracted 38 entries in the Touring Stock 11.5T and 16 entries in the F1 17.5T class including Thai ace Benz Paphon of Team Yokomo and Malaysia National Champion 2009 Team Xray-Orca Jackie Siow. Orca finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd by Benz Paphon of Yokomo, Jackie Siow Orca powered Xray T3, and Norazam of Tamiya respectively, in the Touring Stock 11.5T of Acorn Race held at RCC Glenmarie in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A total of 8 drivers made into the A-Main that are powered by Orca products.

Hazmi B.Karim of ZTW has informed us that he has won another drift competition at the KB fun race drift battle on October 23, 2010. It was a fun race organised by the Ghost-X Team at a district level. This race was targeted to be a fun race and to promote the drifting class. Although there wasn't any trophies, the organizer had made an effort to present food hamper to the winners.

The HPI Drift Challenge 2010 concluded the last round of 8 at the S.K. Rivervale Blk 186 MPH on October 17, 2010. This is one of the major drift series in Singapore organized by Tai Sing Corporation which overall top 2 winners by point system will be sponsored air tickets and accommodation to the HPI All Asia Finals 2010. Kenny Wu and the Team Drift Evolution, Aaron Seeto, Jun Han and Jeffry Tay put up a good show and accomplished great results for Orca, H-Energy and Robitronic.
Kenny Wu (left) finished in A-Main 4th, powering his Robitronic Avid V2 using the Orca Vritra VC4 Pro-Spec ESC and H-Energy 5000 40C 7.4V High Performance LiPo and H-Energy 4000 25C 7.4V LiPo Stick Pack. Kenny also added that he used the Orca Power Booster this round which helped him to maintain the battery voltage much better keeping a more consistent power during the competition.
Aaron Seeto (left) finished at a respectable A-Main 8th in his H-Energy 5000 40C High Performance 7.4V LiPo powered Robitronic Avid V2. Aaron also uses the Orca VC4 Pro-Spec ESC to give him the necessary boost in the competition.
Jeffry Tay (left) TQ and finished 3rd overall in the A-Main. He uses the high power H-Energy 5500 50C High Performance 7.4V LiPo to give him the extra surge that he feels is very important in drifting competition.
Jun Han (left) a recent new owner of the Robitronic Avid V2 finished in A-Main 2nd.
Kevin Chong unfortunately did not finished in the A-Main, which he usually do, had to retire early. Kevin is equipped with the ZTW 60A Version 2.0 ESC and ZTW 5000 35C LiPo.

Orca wins Stock Class 11.5T at Brunei PEMKAR 1/10th Electric Championship 3rd Series (October 17, 2010)
We were informed that Orca QX1 11.5T Professional Brushless Motor took the win for Stock Class 11.5T at the Brunei PEMKAR 1/10th Electric Championship 3rd Series by Zahirul Azman from Brunei. The race took place at the Stadium Track R/C Layout, Berakas, organized by Haji Adie Hobbies Enterprise & PEMKAR.

Hazmi B. Karim have informed us on his TQ and win of the Drift Touring Class at the Brunei PEMKAR 1/10th Electric Championship 3rd Series. Hazmi powered his Yokomo using the ZTW 60A Version Electronic Speed Controller yet to another victory in Brunei Stadium Track R/C Layout Berakas. Good job Hazmi!
Wirawan Hamidoon of H-Energy wins Modified Class at Brunei PEMKAR 1/10th Electric Championship 3rd Series (October 17, 2010)

We have received an update from Wirawan Hamidoon of H-Energy Brunei that he has won the Modified Class at PEMKAR 1/10th Electric Championship 3rd Series. Wirawan powered his Sakura Zero to the top spot using the latest H-Energy 5500 50C High Performance 7.4V LiPo. Wirawan Hamidoon has been in the Team H-Energy since he first started using H-Energy LiPos in July 2010. He added that "The batts performed excellently. No problem at all. Its very consistent from start to finish. I have used this batts since I got it by means of using it almost everyday, sometimes multiple charge it continuously in a day, charging it more than 1C sometimes. Until now the power is still the same as the 1st time I got it, no power drop or bloated casing. Overall I m really impressed."

Leonard Sim won the Racecraft Infinity On-Road Challenge Series 2010-11 Round 1 in Singapore RCRC which he TQ and win the Stock Class using the Orca QX1 11.5T Brushless Racing Motor and Orca Infinite 5500Mah 50C LiPo in his TOP Photon. This is the first time that Leonard Sim uses the ORCA product which he stated that he has a better "package" this year to compete for the overall series champion.
In the Modified Class, EC Wee took the final spot in the podium with his Xray T3 powered by Orca Vritra TC Pro-Spec ESC and the Orca Infinite 5500Mah 50C LiPo.

T3LP Carbon Fiber Chassis
Following on from the success of the 416LP chassis, Smokem Racing has developed a LiPo-specific chassis for the Xray T3. By flipping the drive belts, the LiPo is offset further from the chassis centerline. While on the other side, the receiver and ESC are shifted towards the centerline. Two battery positions are provided so racers can choose where they want to position their LiPo’s. The result is a balanced chassis with no additional weights required.
The 2.3mm thick chassis has been designed for added stiffness to give fantastic response in high grip conditions. With an overall width of only 94mm, scrubbing during hard cornering is minimized. Cutouts have been placed to deliver a design with balanced lateral flex. The result is awesome corner speed and stability over a wide range of conditions.
With both longitudinal and lateral battery tape slots, the T3LP chassis accepts all LiPo’s - with or without humps - without additional retainers that may induce tweak.
Mi4 Upper Link Plate
Developed with leading local Schumacher drivers, the Smokem Mi4 Upper Link Plate provides Schumacher Mi4 racers with additional, longer upper link positions to dial in their cars. By incorporating multiple link positions, racers can alter the length of the upper link without changing the upper link plate. Apart from the standard 39.2mm spacing, there are 2 additional spacings of 31.7mm and 24.2mm.
Running a longer upper link provides greater roll resistance for a given spring rate and less camber rise. It is also ideal when running harder carcass control tyres by maximizing tyre contact patch and maintaining consistent tyre wear. Removing the shock tower is recommended to simplify installation.

Bowie N. Ginting (third from the left)
It was reported that Orca has taken another win at the Indonesia National EP Championship Series VII at the Sunter International Speedway, Jakarta. With a total entry of 50 drivers, Bowie N. Ginting took the TQ honour with the only 16-lapper in the race. Unable to continue with the race due to heavy rain pouring in after the first qualifying rounds, Bowie N. Ginting was declared champion based from the first qualifying results. Bowie was powered by Orca Vritra TC Pro-Spec, Orca Infinite 5500Mah 50C LiPo and OrcaQ QX1 11.5T Brushless Racing Motor.

The Penang RC Race 2010 Sempena 'Penang Orange Day', was held at the RC Track Batu Kawan Race Track in Penang, Malaysia on October 2-3, 2010. Organized by Majlis Sukan Negeri Pulau Pinang Dan Pulau Pinang RC Club (PPRCC), this is by far one of the biggest race in Malaysia in 2010. Attracted some 100 entries from all over Malaysia and Thailand including top driver from Malaysia Jackie Siow from Team Xray/Orca, as well as Thai ace, Tanit Kachchapananda Vut from Team Associated.
We have been reported that Jackie Siow from Team Xray/Orca had TQ and won the 1/10 EP Touring Car Class! Jackie Siow won the class with a debut run of the new Orca RX2 10.5T Professional Brushless Motor, which is one of the range of motors that Orca offers in the RX2 Motors. Congratulations to Jackie Siow and Orca on its amazing results! We will be looking forward to bring you more product news from Orca.

The last round HPI EP On-Road Challenge was held at the newly resurfaced track at ARC Speedway at Turf City, Singapore. The track originally hosted a lot of gas-powered on-road races and recently Atalon RC initiated a huge change to organize electric-powered on-road races. Rainy weather throughout the week hit Singapore but fortunately, the weather held on and turned out to be a good sunny day of RC racing. Qualifying started out late at about 1130am as there were some oversea drivers from Malaysia that were trying to put in as much track time as possible in the morning.
Track was very challenging and technical to put up some good laptimes. P.Y.Tang was testing on the new ESC setup which he ran a 6.5T motor with turbo powered from the Orca Vritra TC Pro-Spec ESC. Although P.Y.Tang was blistering and having the fastest car on the long straight, the power is probably a bit too much for this medium size technical track which he was unable to keep up with the lead pace of TQ holder Nicholas Lee. P.Y.Tang did a few changes trying to "mild" the ESC but it was just too powerful for this track. P.Y.Tang finished the race with 3rd overall, another podium finish for Xray and Orca.
