NASA Mighty Gripper and Acorn Tyre Essence success at Tamiya Asia Cup Finals 2012 (July 15, 2012)

P.Y.Tang dropped in to share with us on the tire treatment he used at the Tamiya Asia Cup Finals 2012 which he TQ and won in the 4WD GT class. Although car setups were very important for the high traction carpet, P.Y. added that to prevent traction rolling and providing a good corner speed, a good traction compound or tire addictive could also be very advantageous.

P.Y.Tang chose to use the Acorn Racing Tyre Essence to clean off dirt and any unwanted grime stuck to the tires as his first step. He then uses the NASA Mighty Gripper V3 prototype as first layer, and heated with Muchmore Tire Warmer CTX-W at 60 degrees for 10 minutes. A second layer of NASA Mighty Gripper V2 was coated and heated for another 10 minutes. P.Y.Tang uses this tire treatment method throughout the race, which he added that he was very happy with the setup which he had no traction roll issues and corner speed was very good throughout. The NASA Mighty Gripper V2 was a must for him as it provided super fast lap in the first minute, as P.Y.Tang recorded the fastest lap of the entire event at 11.5 sec.
