ORCA and NASA tops MTCC 2011 (December 11, 2011)

As year 2011 closing to an end, another big race was held in the South East Asian city of Manila, Philippines. At one of the world class race track in Asia, JP Raceway hosted the annual MTCC (Manila Touring Car Championships) from December 9-11, 2011. Pristine and a well-maintained track saw around 50 drivers competing in Super Stock 13.5T and Novice Class. MTCC is definitely one of the must-go event in the coming years. With the help of ORCA Asia and ORCA Philippines, we are proud that newly-introduced ORCA TQ'ed and finished top 5 in the Super Stock 13.5T, and with 6 ORCA drivers in the A-Main. NASA Mighty Gripper V2 continued to be the top choice for tire addictive. We greatly appreciate the support from the drivers and hope that the product will get them into more A-Mains!

Practise session started on Friday, with many drivers struggled with low traction. The track was washed and cleaned in the early week just before the event. Traction started to come up in the late afternoon and lap times were more decent and NASA Mighty Gripper V2 tire addictive to be the top choice for most drivers. In the Super Stock Touring 13.5T, long-time competitor and friends between JP Reyes and former Tamiya factory driver Yuichiro Takaya led the pace in the qualifying rounds. J.P.Reyes tops the group with the only 22 lapper after round 1. Traction was still building up leading to qualifying round 3, Yuichiro Takaya and P.Y.Tang improved, when they posted top 2 time respectively. The top of group stayed pretty much the same after round 4. With the last qualifying round on Sunday morning, traction stayed high and JP Reyes came back to top the group with an amazing run while Josh Castro propelled to 4th.
