First-ever XRAY Asia Challenge was held at the RC Addict track in Bangkok on September 28-30, 2012. Two classes were held with about 100 entries in total for Nitro Touring Car and Electric Touring Car 13.5T. Team drivers from XRAY participated the event including Martin Hudy, Alexander Hagberg, Surikarn Chaidasuriya, Meen Vejrak, Dirk Wischnewski and Francesco Martini. Grill Party and attractive lucky draw including a XRAY T4 prototype was given out!
The event was very lucky which turns out to be a clear weather day on Sunday's final, which pretty much has been raining every evening during the week making the track very wet and also lower traction. Representing ORCA, Team XRAY driver Alexander Hagberg as well as ORCA representative from Asia entered the race including P.Y.Tang (Singapore), Michael Lo and Wong Kok Wai (Malaysia), Natee and Monchai (Thailand) with many others ORCA racers.
Alexander Hagberg ORCA-powered T4 and first time racing stock class, was pretty much on pace but local hero Meen Vejrak had slight advanrages over the track with TQ and winning all 3 finals. Alexander Hagberg came close with a strong fight in Final A2 and A3 but was unlucky to be hit by a backmarker. Race qualifying was best 1 out of 5, which many have predicted that Q4 would be the most critical which would be the highest tration of the day. Some drivers qualified in B-Main was a victim of not qualifying into A-Main due to troubles in Q4.
